Science Week 9-13 November
As it is science week, classes are doing various Science lessons.
Mrs Edel O’Sullivan’s Junior Infants are working on their theme of “Houses” for this Science Week. Here are some photos from today, where children constructed houses using sticks and very sticky jelly tots! It was wonderful fun. See more photos below.
Ms Olivia O’Shea’s 4th class looked at pulse. They learned how to check their pulse and counted how many beats per minute while they were resting at their desks. They went down for PE and exercised without stopping for 5 minutes-running, jumping, fast feet, jumping jacks, squat jumps and burpees. After 5 minutes they checked their pulse again and recorded their results. They then rested again and checked their pulse to see how long it would take their heart rate/pulse to return to it's normal rate. They learned how important it is to look after our hearts bu exercising daily and my eating healthy foods. We learned also that when we are scared or nervous our heart rate is also affected. See photos under the Junior Infant photos below.
