Cycle Rack Full

It is fabulous to see our cycle stands full to capacity on 15th April 2021. Well done to everyone who cycled to school. It is so good for our health, te environment and our mental well-being. Keep it up everyone. If more cycle, we will look at getting more cycle stands.

Parent Association Egg Gifts

Two brothers Alex and Jamie made a very special delivery with Paudie our caretaker on the day of the Easter holidays 26th March, when they called to all classes with an Easter egg for every child courtesy of our Parent’s Association. Thanks so much for this lovely gift and to our very helpful delivery boys.

Greenschools Inspection

n 25th March 2021, 8 members of the Greenschool committee spoke to Angela Wall, our Greenschool inspector from An Taisce via a Zoom call. These children were all from 1st class and spoke very well about our Travel flag, plans for our day of Action coming soon and told personal stories about what they are doing to be more environmentally friendly. Ms Brassil was extremely proud and Mr O’Connell popped into the meeting for a few minutes too and was very impressed. Thanks to Ann Marie, our SNA for being on the meeting wit us and to Angela who was just terrific in getting the best out of the children and giving them all a chance to be heard. They each got a high-viz jacket to keep which are great to wear cycling and walking and keeping us more visible. Don’t worry if you didn’t get the opportunity to be on the Zoom with us today, as if we get this flag, everyone will get to celebrate it with us.

Easter Senior Infants

Ms Sarah Dinan’s Senior Infants made Easter Nests in school on 25th March 2021 for their little chick and eggs. They had lots of fun crushing and smashing the Shredded Wheat, melting the chocolate and of course eating them! The children used their Lámh signs they have been learning this week when describing what they had made (Easter/egg/chocolate/bunny/chick).

hey also had an EGGcellent hunt today where they had to find the letter or number that was an answer on their worksheet and take a photograph of it with an iPad. Children worked on pairs and those finished early had to photograph the letters from their name. Letters and numbers were hung in order all along the school fence and children’s own Easter egg art was used as the display. It was great exercise as a wonderful way of teaching alphabetical and numerical order.

Easter Art 4th Class

For Easter art, Ms Olivia O’Shea’s 4th class created their own Easter bunny scene using card, fabric and fibre. You can see that they are all so different and creative. Well done!
