For Down Syndrome Awareness day, we asked our children to show their socks and they sent in photos of some funny and odd socks in support of the day.

We at Blennerville N.S. love to teach our students about the importance and beauty of inclusion and awareness for all . We will also welcome a student who has Down Syndrome into our school community in Junior infants in September.

Our children dressed up for St. Patrick's Day and send photos of themselves wearing green to the school email. Here is the note Mr O'Connell put on Facebook the following day:

"In the uncertainty we are seeing unfold , yesterday’s video of our pupils celebrating St Patrick’s Day filled me with pride.
As parades were cancelled, I asked that our school community showed us a St Patrick’s Day with a difference. Thanks to all parents who submitted photos and to our wonderful children & staff who dressed up . Thanks to Ms Brassil and parent Nora Corridon for coordinating and producing the fantastic video.
‘Ní neart go cur le chéile ‘- our school motto - there is no strength without unity . We certainly are united and we will get through this together. I must say I am extremely proud to be a part of this school community, stay strong and stay positive everybody .

Huge congratulations to the CBS The Green secondary school on winning the Corn Uí Mhuirí cup recently. The school are very proud of these boys, having tried for years to get this far. This is the cup presented to the winners of the Munster colleges senior "A" football championship, the top level Gaelic football championship for secondary schools in Munster. The winners advance to the Hogan Cup, which is the All-Ireland colleges senior "A" football championship. Best of luck to you all boys, especially to our past pupil Fergal O’Brien who spoke to us on 6th March 2020 about hard work and enjoying football. The boys got a standing ovation.
