Well done to all involved. This will be displayed proudly in reception, just beside Noreen's office window.

Willy Wonka

Ms Sorcha Ryan's 3rd class are reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and they did this beautiful art work with Ms Carla Hanafin in class. Well done also to the 3rd class daily milers of the month!

Science 1st and 2nd classes

Mrs Gillian Lawlor’s 2nd class had a science fair n 13th November as part of Science Week 2020. Children were invited to bring in their own experiments and they were excellent to demonstrate and explain their projects. One boy Daire H. even showed the class how to do CPR. Here is Callum above who showed great ability in teaching the class about his experiment. Well done to all the children in 2nd!

Ms Roisin Doyle's 1st Class asked the question: How do animals of Antarctica survive the icy waters of the southern ocean? Children discovered that the layers of blubber on their bodies act as a brilliant insulator and keep them nice and toasty. They also made a snowstorm in a jar on Friday 13th November 2020. See the photos below the 2nd class ones.

Science 3rd and 4th

Ms Sorcha Ryan’s 3rd Class have been looking at Space with student teacher Ms Hanafin this week. They have looked at the Planets, the Moon and they looked at Light for Science, in particular Transparency and Opaque. They got to test several items to see if they were transparent or opaque.

For science week, Ms Olivia O’Shea’s 4th class hosted their own science fair and presented their own researched experiment to the class. Each child explained what steps they followed and the results of their experiments. A lot of fun and learning took place. We had lava lamps, volcanic eruptions, rainbows, fizzy orange, making ur own fanta, experiments to measure the amount of rainfall last night, slime, oobleck, hovercraft, dancing milk, edible play dough, storm in a jar, inflating a balloon using a chemical reaction between baking soda and vinegar, a bouncy egg and elephant toothpaste. All the children really enjoyed it and should great teamwork and creativity. Great fun and mess was enjoyed 😊
