Easter Eggs

Thanks to parents Nora and Claire who went shopping with Emily and Nicola to buy an Easter egg for every child in the school.
Huge thanks & appreciation to our Parents Association and the Board of Management for these eggs. Children took their eggs home during the first week of April & those who are absent will receive their eggs upon their return.
Thanks to Mr O’Connell and Paudie for delivering and to Elizabeth for loading the trolley.

Erasmus

It was a pleasure to welcome Welsh & Spanish teachers to our school on 6th April as part of a
bi -lingual Erasmus+ project.
Well done to Ms Ryan & Ms O ‘Shea who demonstrated Gaeilge lessons and shared ideas with our visitors.
6th pupils also sang Amhrán na bhFiann beautifully.

CYCLE RIGHT

Thanks to Jay and Leif of Trailflow Biking Adventures for coming to our 6th class on 4 Thursdays during January and February as part of the Cycle Right programme. Children are learning about road safety as well as getting to put the theory into practice on a bike. The coaches have so accommodating and helpful. Thanks to the RSA, An Taisce, South Kerry Sports Sponsorship and to our 6th class parents for their contributions to make this happen. Our 6th class children are only 5 years away from driving so this safety certification will be of help for their future.

Minister Visit

Thanks to Domnick Walsh for taking these 2 fabulous photos above which appeared in the national papers.

It was an honour to welcome Minister for Education Norma Foley - TD to our school on 20th December 2021. Norma commended the children and the staff on their resiliance throughout these difficult Covid times and the closures. She said she wished she could begin every Monday morning with such a welcome. 6th class sang two Cranberry songs, before which Ms Foley took the time to walk amongst the entire school, making eye contact and conversation easily where she went. She spoke with such fluency and with heartfelt thanks to all. The place looked lovely decorated with balloons in our school colours to mark the occasion.

Thanks for visiting us Norma Foley.

Our World

Ms Debbie Moriarty’s 6th class watched the David Attenborough documentary ‘A Life On Our Planet’ and discussed Cop 26. They then researched projects based on ‘Our World’ and presented them to the class in December 2021. The standard of work was terrific. Well done to all.
